Diffractive optical elements (DOE) have several patterns that can be used, for example, in different health technology and 3D-imaging applications. The cross pattern is commonly used in industrial lasers produced with DOE optics. A benefit of DOE is that it refracts the beam multidimensionally, reducing overall optical power per unit of surface area, thus increasing eye safety.
